"No one is good, no one is evil; everyone is both, in the same way and in different ways.
I wish to love, and I cannot. I wish not to love and I cannot. You drag your double along with you, and yet the two contrive to get on together. I have been good sometimes; I do not congratulate myself because of it. I have been evil often; I do not repent it."

self-portrait in oils..
tried tenebrism/dramatic illumination.. kind of chiaro scuro..
have to admit.. its a bit difficult
First of all congrats with this result
hmmm with the use of light it reminds me on Rembrandt
maybe you used a bit to much light.. also the background is very nice
and of course the expression on the face is Intense I really like it
I think just a bit less light and maybe the background a little bit darker = the figure will come even more out. ( i think )
But still i can only give a comment in what i see (i cant paint..should try it hehe )
Its really nice
